It is hard.
It is stressful.
But we are stronger for it...as a company...as engineers and surveyors...as people...as friends.
Yesterday we had a company meeting. All but two were there. The feel in the room was promising and determined. People asked questions. People listened. People seemed resolute in their commitment to continuing to tough it out together.
Yesterday we drew a line in the sand. We have made it and are ready to start building again.
Slowly. Strategically. Methodically.
But first...
We eat (and eat and eat).
We play Scrabble. (Who says engineers can't spell?)
We play Rock Band 2...and laugh...a lot at Steve's attempt at Bon Jovi.
We smile...the happy owners...hopeful and ready for 2010.

I certainly hope your company is on the mend. It's rough out there. My husband works for a national company and is union. The union voted to take pay cuts to save this company....a union! Hopefully it's working but time will tell. I myself have taken two pay cuts and bring home 60% LESS than I used to. It's pretty painful around here financially but everyone else I work with took the same pay cut. If it make us thrive okay. The sad part is right after we took our pay cuts the CEO got $40,000.00 in bonus for making the numbers work. He left the company a few months later. So not fair but oh well. Good luck to you and it certainly looks like you know how to party!
