Sometimes life moved to fast for words. So here's the last five months... just sprinkle in an ample amount of traveling to visit quilt shops to sell fabric and time in the studio quilting quilts and getting ready for the big event and you'll have an idea of what I did this summer...
April:
Shelby meets Wade for a walk
Our little family visits Williamsburg area
May
Our Spring Montreat Retreat happened but so much sewing and no pictures...
Hung out at One Way Architecture with Hattie
And the road construction at the end of the driveway commences (and doesn't stop for 3 months)
Holy Cow...went to Spring Quilt Market in Portland, Oregon! Hattie went with me and we had a big ol' time!
My high school friend, Ray, gave me the whirlwind tour of Portland. I'd move there in a heartbeat!
Judged the NC Quilt Symposium Show in Fayetteville. This was my Judge's Choice winner. Bad picture of a beautiful piece.
June
A side trip to the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, VA
Meet up with High School Best Buds (except Jaime there on the left...Pam's daughter. Gosh, we're old.)
Started planning the 30th high school reunion. (Seriously? Okay...really so far it's been the four of us meeting at Natty Greens for grub and microbews. That's Allison on the left, then Tina whom I've been buds with since 4th grade and then Bryon. He and I went to kindergarten together. I really don't understand why everyone but me looks BETTER than they did in high school. It just ain't fittin'!)
July
A trip Up Home with Lee and Mack
A trip to Bonnie's new piece of heaven in the mountains
A trade show trip to DC. Is there anywhere hotter than DC in the summertime?
August
Sew Sisters holds Collaboration Celebration with Bonnie Hunter and Mickey Dupre! What a party!!
And if wasn't party enough, Dad decided to take the entire family to Disney World for the week for his and Mom's 50th anniversary. (Guess what's hotter than DC in the summertime...)
But it was worth it to hang out with the boys...
Home on Sunday and road trip to Boone on Monday with Hattie and Shelby...a lovely calm day...
and then Tuesday hit...
What happens when you go non-stop for weeks on end and you ignore all the signs that something is wrong? Your body will shut you down. Tuesday morning was the sickest I've ever been and Tuesday afternoon, Hattie and I spent a non-so-lovely day at the ER. I had let myself get severely dehydrated...nothing an iv, nausea meds, pain meds and a $500 deductible couldn't fix.
So most of the rest of the week I spent here with Shelby watching me closely (for the next belly rub).
So now, we're all caught up. Hopefully, things will settle down just a little bit and I can keep up!
