Family

This weekend was the first family reunion that any of us can remember.  I still can''t believe we got it done.  We didn't start planning until a little over a month ago.  Don't most folks start planning their reunion a year in advance?

Oh no...not Routh women.  We're best under pressure...or worst...depending on how close you're standing to us when the meltdown hits.  And it will.  Always.

But Sunday, just about everything went like clockwork.  We had around 85 show up.

We shared stories and met cousins we didn't even know we had.

We honored our elders...Aunt Ruby is 95 and has always been the sweetest person you ever met...and Aunt Georgia who will turn 102 very soon and is a firecracker and a most fascinating lady.

We remembered how close we once were...

We left with a little piece of our past...

Most of all we remembered we are all richer from known from whence we came and that no matter what happens we have each other...

Change

Change is hard.

Change is scary.

Change is inevitable.

Change is risky.

It seems that's been my life for the last few years...a constant change.

Here we go...once again.

Last week I resigned from my fabric sales rep job. There were many factors but let's just leave it at I believe I'm supposed to be doing something else.

I'm working on defining what that something else is so stay tuned.

Yep, it's going to be hard.
Yep, I'm scared.
Yep, it's going to happen whether I want it or not so might as well put a rudder in the water and guide my own boat.
Yep, I know I could fail...
... but I could NOT fail also and wouldn't THAT be a hoot.

Change is worth it?

               Almost always.
