Today was Shelby's annual check-up at the vet. She weighs a whopping 5.75 pounds. Compared to the 2.5 pounds in the picture above, she's a monster! She was poked and pushed and pinched and she never made a sound. (She is such a good girl!) The vet was once again VERY impressed with her bravery and pronounced her the perfect dog in every way.
Last year when we went to the vet for her check up we had to wait a bit...for the 150 pound German Shepherd under going his annual exam. HE was not so brave....whining and bolting away...hiting the walls. It sounded like he was going to come through that little exam room wall. Meanwhile, little bitty Shelby is in my arms..looking at that exam room door...then up at me...then at the exam room door...then back at me.
Did she bark at all the noise and weird smells? no
Did she whine when they took her temp? no
Did she cry when she got a shot? no
Did she get her own Chick-Fil-A nuggets on the way home? Absolutely.
It pays to be a brave little girl in a great big world.

Awww... but then we already knew that without the Vet's pronouncement! I showed Hannes her picture but kept my hand over the text, I didn't want him know about the Chick-Fil-A stop, he knows nothing of people food. ;) Shelby's just the sweetest.
She needs to come to retreat again!
Yes Shelby is perfect!!! You are so lucky to have her in your life and vice versa....I remember when you first got her and brought her to quilt retreat....she was so sweet then and now!!!!
